The 12 Days of Christmas!

During the Holiday Season people experience heightened Anxiety and Depression. This year, with COVID, it is even more so.

Let’s begin the 12 Days of Christmas with the most relaxing pose I know!

Ensure the small of your back and shoulder blades are against the floor and that your legs are in a 90 degree angle. Then deep breath and relax!

Depression, Anxiety and Anger are protective feelings, believe it or not! Under them lay many more vulnerable feelings that when accessed allow us to move from Reaction to Response to Resolve and Results in our life.

“I AM” Statements affirm our core beliefs about ourselves.

When we are stressed we move or are in a static position of freeze. Our muscles become cronically stiff and hard. Exercise helps the body divest this tension and break up body armouring, Deep breathing moves us from our Sympatric state of fight, flight and freeze to our Parasympathic state of rest & digest.

Remember, ‘I AM’ statements are about our core beliefs about ourselves. We have 80-90,000 thoughts a day, and of those 90% have been reported to be negative. Practice tracking your thoughts to see what thoughts you are having. Practice these ‘I AM’ statements to create and support the person you want to be!

That which we sow, we reap! To shift a mood one must first move out of it and practicing gratitude and kindness is a wonderful way to do this! May your coming year be filled with Joy, Love and Peace!
